The new ext

I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I’m pretty pumped for Jack Slocum’s new version of his ext javascript package. Along with all the new components and modifications he has been putting into it, the fact that it will work with jQuery is awesome. I like to try out all of the big js frameworks, and so far have used yui and dojo the most extensively. I’ve been wanting to try out jQuery, so this will give me all the more reason to use it on my next project.

There’s a number of new features in Slocum’s 1.0 version of ext, and the one I’m really excited about is the new menu component.

Its not often that you find great programming skills and great designing skills wrapped up into one uber-developer package, but I think that describes Jack Slocum pretty well. When you take a look at his examples and what others have done with them, its the kind of stuff that makes you WANT to find a way to use it in a project.
